Celebrate Austria Day at Fischer's

A national holiday in Austria, the National Day falls on 26th October each year and at Fischer’s we like to mark the occasion with all the begeisterung (enthusiasm!) it deserves.

So, it’s time to dust down those Dirndls and Lederhosen, as preparations begin for Fischer’s annual Austria Day festivities on Saturday 26th October 2024.

To celebrate, Fischer’s is offering all guests who dine from 5pm on the day a complimentary mini Sachertorte with a ganache coating and rich, chocolate-laden sponge as well as a glass of Bründlmayer to toast to the occasion – a fine Austrian sparkling wine which is akin to a toasty, warming champagne. From 6:30pm guests can also enjoy the sounds of the Tyrolean accordion, and if the mood takes you, traditional dress is most welcome.

Throughout the week, the team will be serving up an indulgent array of special menu items to honour the occasion. Sample savoury delights, such as, our Tiroler Grostl (pan-fried potato, chopped beef with butter & onion topped with a fried egg) and our Steirisches Wurzelfleisch (pork pot roast made with lean pork neck and belly filet, served with grated apple, horseradish, caraway potatoes and Steigl jus).

Room for dessert? Delight in our Wachauer Marillenknödel, made up of poached wachau valley apricots in dumpling dough, served with vanilla custard.
